MediaLab Amsterdam: Project AILO

I took part in an internship for MediaLAB Amsterdam, which involved working in a highly-international multidisciplinary team to plan, design and prototype an office space solution for KLM Royal Dutch Airlines.

I worked as the team's "Creative Programmer", but we were all heavily involved in all aspects of the project.

A physical, working prototype was created, and KLM has stated that they plan to take the project into full production.

The Assistant

While on an Erasmus exchange program to the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences, I took part in a project for the Dutch charity Bartiméus; we had to design and build a prototype IoT platform to help a deafblind user know about events happening around their home: "The Assistant".

A mod for the game Barotrauma, by Undertow Games. Uses a C#/Lua hook to modify the game to add extra signal components - small logical blocks that add new possibilities in the game's editor for other players.

Card Creator

A Java and Swing-based desktop application for laying out and formatting large numbers of custom Magic the Gathering cards ("proxies") for high-quality printing. Designed to allow for maximum flexibility of style while keeping a consistent design between all cards in a set, and guarding against common errors that could spoil the appearance of printed cards. Integrates with the fan-created Scryfall JSON API to download card details with a single click.

Chords

Chords is a music bot for Discord, created due existing solutions lacking support for a large number of platforms. Chords is written in Java, uses the JDA library for communication with Discord, and the youtube-dl project for streaming audio from a huge number of sites. It also integrates with the last.fm API to provide music recommendations, and with a number of music sites to allow for text searching.

N-FASTR VII

Created in a week for the Games Made Quick game jam, N-FASTR VII (Neo-Future Anti-Gravity Shopping Trolley Racer 7) is a high-action, low-competence anti-gravity racing game using the Godot engine, imagining a world where anti-gravity technology has just been developed but no-one has any idea what to do with it or how to use it safely.

Still in development, I hope to one day turn this into a Mario Kart-esque casual racing game suitable for local multiplayer.
